President of United State of America (USA), on last Thursday, tweeted about the peace deal between the Zionist state and Gulf sheikhdom on arbitration of USA. Indeed, it was big and wondering news that UAE has conceded Israel as a state and will establish the embassy following the normalization of diplomatic relations after signing the agreement. This Israel-UAE peace agreement or ABRAHAM accord, which was announced on the 13th of August is expected to sign in early September in White House.
In the joint statement issued by the USA President Donald Trump, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed that this peace agreement will bring peace in the Middle East and will help to deal with threats facing the Two-state solution. This agreement will also help to bring peace for Palestinians and enable to resolve the issue that has been going on for more than seven decades. Israel will stop the illegal annexation of West bank with Tel Aviv and abandon the ongoing projects. While Muslims of all over the world can travel to Jerusalem to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Now, new debates have begun about the polarization of the Islamic world in two blocks. No doubt, few Muslim countries including Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, and Jorden have appreciated this peace agreement. But few other Muslims countries have criticized including Palestine, Iran, as well as Turkey, said that UAE has hypocritical behavior and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan later stated that Turkey was considering about cutting diplomatic relation with UAE as well as recalling its ambassador from Abu Dhabi irrespective Turkey has long-lasting diplomatic relation with Israel and is the biggest supplier of energy to Israel with huge annually trade.
Arab countries especially Saudi Arabia and UAE are ally and have very close and pleasant diplomatic relations with America for many decades. America has greater influence over these Arab countries and has many military bases in these and other Arab countries too including Qatar.

While Turkey is leaving American block irrespective it is a member state of NATO alliance. Turkey has not good diplomatic relations with the United States in the recent past years as a number of events happened that went against the interests of Turkey. While America has imposed very strict economic restrictions on Iran over the recent past years. Both countries have tense relations and keep threatening each other’s sovereignty. As a result, this region is facing serious and tense situations.
Iran and Turkey have also not good relations with Arab countries especially Saudi Arabia and UAE for many reasons. Tensions were observed between Saudi Arabia and Turkey over a few years ago when Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul. Turkey blamed Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Muhammad Bin Salman for this murder. While Tehran and Riyaz also blamed and challenges the sovereignty of each other.
Thus, two blocks in Muslim countries are arising one of Arabs and other Non-Arab leading by Turkey. Arab countries have good relations with countries in American block while Turkey, Iran, Malaysia and some other Non-Arab countries have very pleasant relations with China and Russia. The world is already polarized between American block and newly forming China & Russian block according to their national interests. And these two new arsing Arab and Non-Arab blocks are making alliances with the different powers of the world. Thus, creating big challenges for each others and the 1.6 Billion Muslims living in all over the world. Although, it will not be a good for the Islamic world to divide into two blocks as they are facing serious internal and external challenges in the world.
So, this new decision made by UAE will trigger the situation among the Islamic world as Palestine Authority itself and Turkey with Iran have issued serious statements that may lead to upset the diplomatic relations among them. UAE has considered its own national interests and decided to start diplomatic relations with Israel following the establishing of embassies in each other’s countries and ignoring the Palestine cause. Although, Palestinians are also not happy on this agreement because they consider the terms agreed by both states to stop annexing the West Bank to Tel Aviv as “Lollipop” as the world knows that how much Israel acts upon on agreements. As Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahu said there was “no change” to his plans to annex parts of the West Bank if it was approved by the US, but added they were on temporary hold.
Islamic world needs unity instead of polarization. Because, many countries such as Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Burma, Kashmir cause need collective attention instead of being divided. Some other Muslim countries are facing serious internal and external challenges that need to address collectively. But, just keep considering their own interests and divided on the basis of mutual interests may have fatal consequences in the near future. So, its need of the hour to see the matters mutually instead of individually.
